Is Article Marketing Still a Good SEO Strategy?

Is Article Marketing Still a Good SEO Strategy?

I personally believe that article marketing is still a good SEO strategy, and I’ll try to share my thoughts effectively in here.

Let’s start with: what is article marketing? It is process of writing articles and putting them on websites online for the purpose of getting search engine and direct traffic.

What is SEO?

SEO is search engine optimization, which is the process of getting search engine traffic. And if you think about search engine content itself, probably 90% of it is articles.

Here’s a simple test to see if that’s right:

Make a list of 5 keywords in your niche.

Google all 5 of them. That will give you a combined total of 50 top ten search results. My guess is that about 90% of them will be articles (and think about this: blog posts and ordinary web page posts are normally articles. You might not call them articles, you might call them blog posts, but they are still essentially the same thing… !

So my thought is this: if 90% of search results are articles, then when you do article marketing correctly, you are really doing 90% of SEO.

So which is easier? I think it is a lot easier than SEO. Because think about it, when you do SEO, you have to think of all these different things:

on page optimization

off page optimization

inbound linking

linking percentages

and so on

But with article marketing, all of that occurs naturally, you don’t even have to think about it. When you write an article, of course there will be a title and a description and keywords (on page optimization). And there will be links that come in naturally, if they are natural, percentages don’t matter, so you have off page optimization covered.

Can you tell I am a big believer that article marketing covers just about all the bases of SEO – with a lot less work and effort. And that is one big reason why I have done so much of it over the years. (The biggest reason is that it is so effective. I have found that am traffic is second only to personally referred list traffic for profitability per visit.)

Therefore I do am, and rarely think about SEO. Because my SEO occurs naturally when I do article marketing. And here’s one more thought: content marketing has become popular lately. Article marketing covers about 90% of content marketing as well.
